A good friend of mine and well known filmmaker and DP Philip Bloom recently asked me to write a guest post for his website. The subject would be Avid Media Composer 6, its new features, and it’s place in the post-production market. Philip has been an Avid editor, but because previously Avid required proprietary hardware the cost was too expensive to use indepndently. Philip then moved on to Final Cut Pro, and now on to Adobe Premiere Pro .
With the release of Avid Media Composer 6.0, his curiosity about Avid was shaping up has been peaked especially with open support now for 3rd party manufactures.
