This year NAB is more exciting than ever. We are only a few days until the show officially kicks off, and we have already heard some breaking news in post production.
EditShare announced they are finally bringing Lightworks to the Mac platform. EditShare will be there demoing their latest offerings to thousands of editors yearning for another competitive NLE since demise of FCP7. I have been running Lightworks on my PC for some time. I even did a review of it here a while back. It is a very viable platform to edit on. It will be interesting to see what they have to offer.
Adobe announced today a glimpse of what to expect at NABShow. They have had major updates to Premier Pro and After Effects with new workflows. They have updated expanded their support of media formats, and increased the color workflows with LumetriTM Deep Color Engine. They have also announced Adobe Anywhere for video. This is a collaborative workflow platform that empowers teams using Adobe professional video tools to work together, enabling the access and management of centralized media and assets across virtually any network. This is something that is a must see for any Adobe user.
Avid has on the other hand been tightly lipped about what they are bringing to NAB. They have only hinted at a “game changer’ and possibly “groundbreaking”. There have been some hints at a new Media Composer on the way. Twitter has been leaking images, however they could be just April Fools jokes at this point. Even the Post Chat team is not aware of what they will be announcing. Although, we will be at Avid’s Press Release this Sunday night, and we will be live tweeting from there. Stay tuned by following myself or any of the Post Chat team.
This year is most exciting year for NAB and post production professionals. We have never seen so much choice, or so many tools offered for us to work with. Even Apple recently mentioned they are going back after the Pro market with the recent additions to FCPX, and adding a new MacPro on the horizon. NABShow this year is bigger and more exciting than ever. We have the largest names in software all vying for your attention. Avid, Adobe, EditShare OH MY!
What are you most excited to see at NAB ?
